2014 劇情簡介：在為索尼哥倫比亞完成Facebook創始人故事片《社交網站》（The Social Network）之後，大衛·芬奇（David Fincher）又將繼續和他們合作，拍攝一部講述美國國際象棋大師鮑勃·費舍（Bobby Fischer）生平的傳記片《棄卒》（Pawn Sacrifice）。 鮑勃·費舍是美國國際象棋界的偶像級人物，他曾於1972年在冰島首都雷克雅維克舉行的國際象棋世界冠軍挑戰賽上，代表美國擊敗了前國際象棋世界冠軍——蘇聯的鮑裏斯·斯帕斯基（Boris Spassky）。 《棄卒》劇本由斯蒂文·奈特（Steven Knight）創作，製片人蓋爾·卡茨（Gail Katz）若幹年前就開始為哥倫比亞公司籌劃此片了，除他之外，傳聞將主演該片的托比·馬奎爾（Tobey Maguire）也將擔任製片人。
